Your Birdbath Will Sparkle With The Help Of One Kitchen Ingredient
By OLIVIA MARJORAE
Birdbaths can be a hassle to clean, as they can easily accrue mildew, moss, and other dirt. Fortunately, there’s a common kitchen staple that can make them sparkle: baking soda.
With its antibacterial qualities, baking soda is a cleaning powerhouse. It’s as effective as a store-bought cleaner, but it’s lower in cost and safer for the birds and environment.
First, empty out the water in your birdbath, rinse it with cold water, and empty it again. Then, sprinkle baking soda generously into the birdbath, and add water to make a paste.
Spread the paste all over the birdbath; let it sit for at least 15 minutes; scrub the whole birdbath with the paste; and then rinse thoroughly. Repeat this process regularly.
