Wipe Out Mosquito Larvae In Standing Water With The Help Of ACV
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
If you're dealing with mosquitoes that are making homes out of water puddles around your house, try adding some apple cider vinegar into the standing water to banish the pests.
"Apple cider vinegar is acidic and can lower the pH of freshwater bodies, making the water more acidic," said entomologist Emma Grace Crumbley, talking exclusively to House Digest.
"Lower pH can disrupt the development of mosquito larvae and kill them," continued Crumbley. By changing the acidity, you can kill mosquitoes before they start flying and biting.
Per Crumbley, a mix of 85% water and 15% apple cider vinegar should eliminate larvae in about 24 hours. She suggests 19 ounces of apple cider vinegar for every gallon of water.
