Why You Shouldn't
Use Windex To Clean Your Shower Doors
By MADISEN SWENSON
Windex is a cleaner and glass polisher that leaves a streak-free shine on just about any finish. However, Windex isn't the right choice for cleaning your shower.
The ammonia that gets left behind when you use Windex will eat away at the surrounding elements in your shower, such as the metal finishes or grout in the tiles.
Windex isn't all that great at breaking down limescale
or other hard water stains because ammonia is better against greasy stains, not the mineral-based buildup of water stains.
Ammonia-free Windex has fast-evaporating chemicals, but little suggests this formula is effective against hard water stains, which usually require an acidic solution to break down.
