Why Vinegar Is The Essential Solution For Windowsills & Door Frames
By SHARON KONG PERRING
Vinegar is an efficient solution for keeping window sills and door frames free from insects, particularly ants, thanks to its strong scent that disrupts their
communication system.
To use, mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle. For small infestations, opt for distilled white vinegar, while apple cider vinegar is more effective for larger ones.
Spray this mixture around common ant entry points, such as windows, baseboards, and doorways, as well as areas where ants tend to gather, like kitchens and around trash cans.
You can also wipe down these areas with a vinegar-soaked sponge or spray vinegar directly on ants and infested surfaces. While this won't poison the ants, it will suffocate them.
However, the repellent effect of vinegar doesn't last indefinitely, so it's recommended to reapply the solution about three times a week for continued protection against ants.
