While white clover and microclover are both excellent options for your lawn, it's crucial to weigh their advantages and disadvantages to make a well-informed decision.
White clover is known for its fast, aggressive growth and ability to quickly fill in bare spots, making it a great choice for those seeking a lush, green lawn with
minimal effort.
It's much more affordable than microclover, and its ability to self-reseed reduces the need for ongoing maintenance. It grows up to 8 inches but can be mowed to a lower height.
Moreover, white clover flowers profusely during the summer, attracting bees and other pollinators, which might be a drawback if you enjoy walking barefoot on
your lawn.
On the other hand, microclover is a smaller, less aggressive variant that blends well with turf grass and is easier to manage, making it less likely to invade flower beds.
Though microclover has smaller leaves and a more compact size than regular clover, it needs regular mowing to maintain that look; otherwise, it will resemble regular white clover.
It rarely flowers, which is helpful if you're allergic to clover flowers or want to avoid attracting bees, but this may require more frequent reseeding to maintain
its appearance.
