What Nail Polish Remover Can Do For Your Dirty Iron
By SAKSHI KHAITAN
With regular usage, an iron's soleplate can accumulate dirt, dust, spray starch, and scorched fabric fibers, leading to a dirty and sticky surface that can hinder its performance.
To remedy this, consider using nail polish remover, but be sure to check the manufacturer's instructions to ensure the polish remover is safe to use on your iron.
Once you’re ready, plug your iron in and let it heat up. While it heats, don a pair of oven mitts or other sturdy heat-protecting gloves to protect your hands from
the hot surface.
Grab a cotton ball or a Q-tip, and dip it in acetone nail polish remover. Now, unplug the iron and rub the dipped cotton ball over the hot soleplate to get rid of the grime.
Scrub the clean surface with a damp cloth to remove residual polish remover. Don't forget to open the windows in the room during the process to avoid inhaling the chemical fumes.
