The HGTV master
herself, Joanna Gaines, demonstrated a unique twist on the classic kitchen island in a “Fixer Upper” renovation by doubling it into a stunning set of two.
"When you have one large island you've got to walk all the way around [...] these two islands really help define the space," Gaines says on the “Fixer Upper” episode.
Doubling your kitchen island also adds versatility. Breaking the fixture in half gives your kitchen lots of room for seating and entertaining, increasing luxury and functionality.
This concept allows you
to further customize your kitchen's layout, as you
can make the two islands different sizes or use different materials for each depending on their purposes.
