Use This Ikea Hack To Create Built-In Kitchen Storage On A Budget
By MASIE O'TOOLE
On TikTok, @WeatheredGems showed how customizing the Ikea wardrobe gives you additional renter-friendly kitchen storage and is much easier to install than built-in cabinetry.
In the video, the pair behind the account disassembled a secondhand IKEA wardrobe, which they bought for $75. The wardrobe resembled Ikea's Pax/Forsand or the Pax/Bergsbo.
Next, they sanded, primed, and painted the pieces and swapped the hardware to match the cabinetry. They also removed the smaller door along one side to create exposed shelving.
Getting a piece that matches your cabinets as much as possible will reduce your workload further. Once done, simply place the piece along an empty wall in your kitchen.
