Use This Household Essential To Prevent A Snow Flea Infestation
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
Despite sharing a name, snow fleas are not actually fleas, but they can be annoying. Luckily, it’s easy to get these fast-multiplying pests out of your home using some vinegar.
Vinegar contains acetic acid, which scorches the bodies of snow fleas that come into contact with it. It kills them quickly, making it an easy and natural form of pest control.
It’s best to use white vinegar since it has a stronger acidity than apple cider vinegar. Plus, its smell won’t attract more snow fleas the way apple cider vinegar might.
Fill a bottle with undiluted vinegar and spray the acidic liquid directly onto them. Spray also humid spaces, like basements and bathrooms, reapplying the vinegar as needed.
Address the root of the problem and keep snow fleas out of your home by checking for leaky pipes or excess moisture. Use a dehumidifier to help deter snow fleas from returning.
