Use This Bathroom Staple To Keep Earwigs Out Of Your Dahlias
By SANDY BAKER
Create a less favorable environment for earwigs feeding on your dahlias by applying Vaseline on the stems, making it impossible for pests to climb to the tasty leaves and flowers.
Since earwigs live on old leaves, twigs, and debris, keep your flowerbeds clear of these. They also love dark, moist areas, so keep your beds as dry as possible.
Apply a small amount of Vaseline to your fingertips and run it up and down the stem of the dahlias, ensuring that the earwigs cannot get a grip on it for climbing.
Do this until the pests move on to another location, and reapply the Vaseline every week or so during the summer to prevent the dahlias from another infestation.
