Chic Hack

TikTok user @modernbohocottage shared an amazing hack to customize and add character to IKEA’s $90 Alex five-drawer system, using some fluted wood and elegant hardware.
You’ll need an assembled set of IKEA Alex drawers, some plywood, fluted wood trim from Home Depot, wood glue, a drill, a hand saw, and brass hardware of your choice.
Cut your plywood and fluted trim to the same size as your drawer fronts before gluing the fluted trim onto the plywood. Next, glue the plywood to the front of each drawer.
Lastly, drill a hole through the trim, plywood, and drawer front in the middle of each drawer to add the hardware. Combine several of these drawers to create a large bureau.
