Upcycle Old Newspaper With These Clever House & Garden Hacks
By MASIE O'TOOLE
Pack Items Safely
Using newspapers as packing material is one of the most common hacks out there. Simply use them to wrap individual items so they don’t get damaged.
Line Drawers
Keep your drawers and cabinets in shape by lining them with newspaper pages. Make sure you trim them to size before laying them and replace the sheets periodically.
Litter Box
Lay down a few sheets of newspaper at the bottom of your cat’s litter box to prevent the litter from sticking and to help absorb unpleasant odors.
Deodorize Shoes
Stuffing smelly shoes with newspaper and leaving them out in the sun will help combat shoe odor as the sheets will absorb both excess moisture and unpleasant smells.
Move Furniture
Placing newspaper under the feet of your heavy furniture can make it easier to push and also reduces the chances of it scratching or nicking your flooring.
