Upcycle Old Clothing In Your Home & Garden Instead Of Tossing It Out

Rags
Turn clothing ruined by stains or large holes into indoor and outdoor rags. Use absorbent fabrics, like cotton, for cleaning messes and the non-absorbent materials for dusting.
Even small pieces of fabric can be used to create a coaster by sewing together squares of batting and fabric, then adding binding around the perimeter to neaten the edges.
Train plants to latch onto a trellis by securing them with plant ties made from narrow strips of fabric cut from your old clothing, which are gentle on plants’ stems.
If you have a sewing machine, you can make a DIY patchwork quilt as a way to display sentimental T-shirts or to repurpose any other items of clothing that you no longer wear.
Create a patchwork pillowcase by sewing together scraps of material taken from your old clothing. Leave one end open or add on a fastener so the pillowcase is removable.
