Unclog Blocked Drains With One Unlikely Item From Your Fridge
By JENNY TINDER
Blocked drains can be a major source of frustration and inconvenience. Thankfully, you can unclog your drain with an item you likely have in your fridge: plain, unsweetened yogurt.
The process is straightforward: Pour 1 cup of yogurt into the affected drain and let it sit undisturbed for at least five hours or, ideally, overnight.
Then, flush the drain with
a gallon of hot water to
clear out any remaining blockage. If the clog persists, you may repeat
the process up to a
maximum of three times.
This method is not only eco-friendly but also avoids the use of harmful chemicals. Moreover, regular maintenance with yogurt every two months can prevent future clogs from forming.
It's crucial to note, though, that for those on a sewer system, this method should be used in moderation, as excessive dairy products can upset the balance
of the ecosystem within.
