Transform A Basic Plastic Drawer Into A Chic Dresser
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
While plastic dressers are convenient for adding more storage space, they can be an eyesore. Luckily, you can transform their appearance with this simple DIY trick.
The project works well with wider sets of attached plastic drawers. If you have a narrower set, you can screw two of them together to make a regular-size dresser.
Begin by measuring the framing and cutting two pieces of poster board to the same dimensions to cover the structure and make it appear more like a traditional dresser.
Use hot or super glue to secure these in place, then paint your dresser. Remove the drawers and spray paint the entire frame, as well as the outside of the drawers.
Once the paint has dried, drill two small holes into each drawer to attach your cabinet handles. You may also want to attach legs to your dresser before decorating further.
Place your drawers back into the frame and decorate your dresser. Other ways to decorate your dresser include using paper, wood peel-and-stick wallpaper, and adhesive wall decals.
