Tips To Seamlessly Blend Two Different Floors In Your Home
By V BAWA
Keeping the same flooring throughout your home isn’t always practical. Places like the kitchen need something easy to clean, whereas, the bedroom might be better off with carpets.
However, achieving a harmonious transition between rooms with varied floorings is essential. An easy and effective way to do this is by using transition strips.
In cases where there might be a height difference or an awkward gap, you can easily install transition strips for smooth blending. This is most common with hardwood floors.
Use transition materials that suit your floor types and the issue you want to address. Some common transition strips are reducers, T-moldings, and multi-function moldings.
Consider a consistent color palette and complementary tones to make sure the transition is visually appealing, especially if there are two different types of floors.
Conversely, you can also create a visual clash when transitioning between different floor materials to make a statement and map out a specific zone within a room.
