We should know by now that just because a hack goes viral on TikTok doesn’t mean it’s worth trying out. This goes for the toilet cleaning hack, which involves putting a bottle of Fabuloso in your toilet tank, so every time you flush, it cleans itself.
First off, all-purpose cleaners like Fabuloso aren’t designed for toilet tanks. Therefore, Apartment Therapy warns that the chemicals in these products can damage toilet parts made of plastic and rubber, potentially leading to leaks.
Another issue is that Fabuloso can shift the water levels in your water tank, so waste is more likely to become trapped because less water will be created with each flush. The cons outweigh the pros, so it’s best to ditch Fabuloso and clean your toilet the old-fashioned way.
