This Is The Best Benjamin Moore Paint Finish For Ceilings
By ETHAN HARRISON SMITH
A painted ceiling is great at hiding scuffs and stains, but choosing the best paint finish is crucial, as the wrong one can highlight imperfections and ruin the room's appearance.
Benjamin Moore claims its Waterborne Ceiling Paint is best, with an ultra-flat sheen that reduces lap marks and splatters while minimizing the appearance of imperfections.
Ultra-flat paint hides imperfections, as its lack of sheen means light will have few shiny surfaces to bounce off of and reveal scuffs. It also conceals marks or uneven textures.
To make painting your ceiling easier, remove dust, repair cracks with caulk, and use an oil-based primer to cover water stains and a shellac-based primer to cover smoke stains.
Use a low nap roller for smooth ceilings and a ½-inch or ¾-inch nap roller for textured ceilings. Adding a second coat helps minimize imperfections and achieve the best finish.
