This Eraser Hack Isn't The Best Way To Revive A Dead Battery
By DANIELLE RAMOS-SULLIVAN
To get a bit of extra charge out of a battery, you can rub an eraser on either side of it. This can temporarily charge the battery, but it may not be worth it.
Older batteries might leak potassium hydroxide in the form of white powdery material, so it’s best to dispose of batteries that are getting old rather than trying the eraser hack.
To prolong the life of a battery, store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources, and do not mix different types of batteries together.
