This Beginner-Friendly Hack Makes Stripping Kitchen Cabinets A Breeze

If you're planning to replace your cabinets, you can instead try a low-cost alternative with equally great results: stripping the cabinet's paint for a repaint.
The task may feel daunting, but you can easily do it using a paint stripper, like Citristrip, along with plastic wrap, a scraping tool, 60-grit sandpaper, and 220-grit sandpaper.
Detach the cabinet doors if you have to, then apply the paint stripper across the wood to remove the paint's top layer. Cover it in plastic wrap and let it sit overnight.
In the morning, remove the paint with the scraper and use the 60-grit sandpaper for any straggling bits. More stubborn paint spots may have to be melted with a heat gun.
Once melted, use nail polish remover with a cotton swab to lift the mark. Finally, use the 220-grit sandpaper to completely smooth out the wood, prepping it for a new finish.
If you don't want to sand delicate wood, brush mineral spirits onto the area you want to strip, leave for 20 minutes, and then use the scraper. Repeat as necessary until satisfied.
