Think Twice Before Using Windex On Your Quartz Countertops
By A. R. HOPKINS
Kathy Cohoon, operations manager at Two Maids, advises that while the original Windex formula is generally safe for quartz countertops, specialized versions should be avoided.
Since the original Windex contains ammonia, it's important to avoid using it on your countertops if the manufacturer specifically warns against contact with ammonia-based products.
For regular cleaning, Cohoon suggests “a gentle wipe-down with a soft cloth” and warm, soapy water, while a mild cleaner like the original Windex can be used for tougher stains.
However, she recommends testing Windex in an inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't harm your quartz countertops and emphasizes regular sealing to prevent stains from setting in.
