Think Twice Before Trying The Splash Toilet Bowl Cleaner
By AMANDA FINN
Splash toilet cleaner claims to foam up and take the work out of scrubbing the toilet bowl, but the hype around it may just be a bubbly cover for a lackluster product.
A whopping 69% of customers on Amazon rated the cleaner an abysmal one star. Meanwhile, the reviews on the Splash website itself assert the product works exactly as described.
The official site also claims that a lot of the product — 10 million units — have been sold, and that it regularly sells out. However, it doesn't appear to be available in stores.
Customers who purchased Splash toilet cleaner on Amazon argue it doesn't work or foam up as its marketing indicates, with one customer stating that it's using false advertising.
Other reviewers confirmed that the powder does not foam and the only way to get any cleaning done is to scrub, which is a far cry from the product's claims of being effortless.
Plus, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) has said it received “consumer complaints alleg[ing] that after their initial purchase, they are receiving additional charges for products.”
There are only 5 five-star reviews on the BBB site, out of the 511 customer reviews listed dating back to 2021. The average customer review rating at BBB is 1.09 out of 5.
