Things Your Weeds Are Trying To Tell You About Your Garden
By ERICA HAWBAKER
Weeds have a clear purpose in your gardens; in fact, these pesky plants are messengers that provide essential information about your garden’s needs.
According to horticulturist Alys Fowler in an interview with The Guardian, dandelions, for instance, mean that "your soil is a little compact" and "low on surface nutrients."
In contrast, annual weeds indicate your soil holds excess bacteria, while weeds like brambles protect tree seedlings from deer, allowing the young plants room to grow up and out.
