When it comes to choosing the best laundry appliance brands, appliance expert Ben Schlichter, owner of Ben's Appliances & Junk, recommends Speed Queen and LG as the top picks.
He praises Speed Queen for their "commercial standard" build, which has earned their units a rare 5/5 rating from Consumer Reports for both reliability and user satisfaction.
Schlichter emphasizes that Speed Queen machines are designed to last up to 20 years, making them exceptionally durable, though they are also among the most expensive on the market.
For LG, he cites the brand's consistent quality across front- and top-loading models, noting, "every other brand has mixed quality that it is hard to recommend across the board."
He specifically recommends the Speed Queen TC5 as "arguably the most reliable, best cleaning washer on the residential market" and the LG WM3400 for its quality and affordability.
