This perennial plant becomes a focal point in the garden during early to midsummer, producing clusters of flowers on tall stems that act as an irresistible lure for the birds.
Arkwright's campion grows to about 15 inches tall and features purple-tinged foliage with hairy leaves. It thrives in USDA hardiness zones 3 through 8 in full sun or
partial shade.
For a fuller, bushier plant that draws in hummingbirds, prune or pinch back the tip growth early in the season. Deadheading spent blooms regularly will ensure continuous flowering.
