The Unexpected Benefit Of Leaving Dry Coffee Grounds In Your Garage
By DANIELLE RAMOS-SULLIVAN
After enjoying your morning cup of coffee, you can use the coffee grounds in a surprisingly helpful hack to deter foul odors and mosquitoes from congregating in your garage.
Their porous nature and nitrogen content trap and neutralize unwanted odors in a space. Place open containers filled with grounds around the garage or under vents for best results.
Plus, the pungent aroma of coffee grounds has been shown to repel scent-sensitive pests like mosquitoes. It also masks human scents, making it harder for mosquitoes
to locate you.
Make sure to always use fresh grounds. You can also burn them lightly in a pan to increase their scent, or create a spray for your plants or clothes for some temporary protection.
