The Two Best Ways To Get Rid Of Mold On Fabric Furniture
By RHIANNON FAITH IRELAND
Mold thrives when there's too much humidity in the room and can be daunting to remove. Luckily, hydrogen peroxide and bleach will make this process easier and more effective.
Cover the affected area with hydrogen peroxide and let it
sit for a while. Remove it with
a damp cloth and dry it with another clean cloth. Repeat the steps until the mold is gone.
For more stubborn molds, use bleach. Dilute one cup of bleach and a quarter cup of laundry detergent in a gallon of water, pour
it into a spray bottle, and spritz affected areas.
After 15 minutes, work the liquid into the fabric with a clean cloth until the mold is gone. Remove all remaining residue with another
damp cloth, and repeat
the process if needed.
As a precaution, check whether bleach is okay to use on the moldy fabric — most furniture items will state that on the label — before applying it.
