The Swiffer Hack That Lets You Never Buy Refills Again
By HANNAH COLE
Keeping up with the proprietary Swiffer system can add up quickly, and at nearly $10 for a two-pack on Amazon, the WetJet Multi-Purpose Floor Cleaner can cost you a lot of money in the long run. However, this hack will show you how to continue using your Swiffer without breaking the bank.
In a TikTok video, a user showed how to reuse those stubborn and sealed WetJet bottles by submerging the top of the bottle in piping hot water to loosen the plastic locks, allowing the lid to come right off. Many people agree this is a useful hack that will save you money, and you also won’t be wasting plastic.
Start by microwaving a mug of water for about two minutes, then submerge the refill bottle lid for 30 seconds. After removing the bottle, use a cloth to pull off the cap, and then fill it with your favorite floor cleaner — be careful to not cut off the annoying self-locking tabs as it can cause your bottle to leak.
