The Perfect Plant To Pair With Petunias For A Stunning Display
By KALEIGH BRILLON
Trailing lobelias are the perfect match for your gorgeous petunias because of their low-maintenance planting requirements, various color options, and creeping growth patterns.
Both flowers prefer full sunlight, and they are drought-resistant. However, lobelias require slightly more moisture than petunias, so be sure to water them once the topsoil is dry.
Petunias can spread out to at least 1 foot, so make sure you leave enough room for the flowers to grow. Use a slow-release fertilizer once or twice a year to provide nutrients.
The pair’s low-maintenance habits are great for hanging baskets or hard-to-reach flower beds. Since lobelias and some petunia varieties are self-pruning, deadheading is optional.
