The Paint Mistake That'll Jeopardize The Quality Of Your Concrete Floors
By TRINITY ARCHIE
Concrete floor is a low-maintenance and durable choice that benefits even further from a coat of paint. However, always consider the temperature and humidity before you paint.
Concrete floors are porous and very absorbent unless sealed. As a result, you should make sure that you paint them in the right environment so that the coating sets properly.
Your floor should be at least 55 degrees F, and the air in the room or outdoor space around the floors should be between 60 and 85 degrees F. Humidity levels should be around 35%.
When painting concrete floors outside, plan to finish the project in the right temperatures. Based on where you live, intense winter and summer months may not be the best time.
Use a hygrometer to determine the exact humidity levels of your space, then if necessary, a humidifier or dehumidifier to attempt to get your room to the necessary humidity level.
The exact temperature and humidity level required to maintain the concrete's quality after painting depend on the chosen paint type, so always read the label for guidance.
