The Only Type Of Glue You Need For Bonding Metal To Wood
By SAKSHI KHAITAN
When affixing metal parts to wooden surfaces, people naturally turn to adhesives if drilling nails isn't an option, and the best glue to get the job done would be a two-part epoxy.
Unless lacquered, wood is fairly porous and easily laps up glue, unlike metal, which has a high density. For the adhesive to work, it must be compatible with both surfaces.
The adhesive should also lend the required tactile strength. Epoxies offer exceptional bonding strength and outlast their competitors, despite taking some time to set and cure.
You can choose either J-B Weld's two-part epoxy or Gorilla epoxy, available for under $7 and $8, respectively, at Home Depot, as the two glues have their own pros and cons.
