The Most Durable Countertop According To Tiktok's Clever Stain Test
By RHIANNON FAITH IRELAND
Updating your countertops can feel overwhelming given all of the considerations, and one of the most important things to keep in mind is how easily the material will stain.
TikTok user @imagineunique_official tested different stone countertops against stains by applying turmeric to each surface and cleaning it with a mix of baking soda and vinegar.
Neolith, which is extremely durable with low porosity, did well in the test. The marble-esque material, made of naturally occurring products and pigments, doesn’t even need a seal.
Cheaper than marble, Neolith comes in a range of colors and is easy to repair if damaged. You can mend individual sections without having to replace the entire thing.
Porcelain also did well in the test and is within a similar price range to Neolith. It also can look like marble, as well as wood or even linen, all while retaining its benefits.
It’s non-porous and durable, but things become tricky if it shows signs of damage. Small marks can be repaired, but large ones may result in the entire countertop being replaced.
Both porcelain and Neolith are excellent countertop options in terms of stain removal and durability, but Neolith is the better choice if you're worried about cracks and marks.
