The Mason Jar Trick That Will Banish Musty Bookshelf Odors For Good

A simple yet efficient method to eliminate unwanted musty odors from bookshelves involves the use of a Mason jar, baking soda, and, optionally, a few drops of essential oils.
Start by making several small holes in the lid of the jar. Combine a ½ cup of baking soda with a few drops of your chosen essential oil, and then pour this mixture into the jar.
Next, secure the lid tightly and place the jar in the desired spot on your bookshelf. It is important to be mindful when selecting essential oils, as some are toxic to animals.
If you have pets, opt for a pet-safe essential oil or skip it altogether. Baking soda alone can be an effective alternative to air fresheners, providing long-lasting odor control.
