The Main Reason Joanna Gaines Chooses Carpet Over Hardwood Flooring
By LISA DAVIS
Although hardwood flooring has been a staple in many of her home renovation projects, Joanna Gaines has made an intentional choice to use carpet in the upstairs area of her house.
As a mom to three boys and two girls, the "Fixer Upper" star’s choice is meant to cut down on the racket her kids cause on the second-floor game room in her Waco, Texas farmhouse.
Per the Carpet Institute of Australia, "Carpet softens harsh sounds and creates a quieter, more peaceful indoor environment." That’s what Gaines’ wall-to-wall low-pile carpet does.
With a need to bring a family-friendly atmosphere to the space while also keeping the noise down, Gaines’ carpet, featuring a plaid pattern in neutral tones, is a practical choice.
