The Joanna Gaines Decor Trend Queer Eye's Bobby Berk Is So Over
By MADISEN SWENSON
In an interview with She Knows, Queer Eye's Bobby Berk said, "I am kind of getting sick of farmhouse modern. I think Joanna [Gaines] has beat that one to death at this point."
Modern farmhouse design became popular in American homes, thanks partly to Gaines' hit renovation show, "Fixer Upper," as its stars rely on it during most of
their renovations.
The style is known for a sort of contemporary, pared-down take on the shabby chic trend, with minimalist colors, shiplap, rustic wooden farmhouse tables, and exposed ceiling beams.
Despite being over the style, Berk said, "I don't think that any genres or trends or styles should go away. If there's something that still makes somebody happy, I'm all for it."
As Berk said, you should decorate based on what makes you happy, and people still love modern farmhouse. Bankrate named the aesthetic as the second most desired for home buyers.
Berk still incorporates some modern farmhouse elements into his designs, and a post from his website describes ideal modern farmhouse aesthetics as being "rustic yet refined."
