The Flowering Plant That Loves To Be Next To Lavender In The Garden
By A. R. HOPKINS
A popular Mediterranean perennial, lavender pairs extremely well with yarrow — a flowering herb of various colors that complements lavender and thrives under the same conditions.
To plant lavender and yarrow together, you may wish to buy both as seedlings that are around the same size. The plants will then remain similarly sized as they grow.
Lavender and yarrow should be planted in the late spring or early summer in well-draining, sandy soil that is low in nutrients, which will help control yarrow’s excessive growth.
Both plants require full sun but very little maintenance. Overwatering can cause root rot, so water once a week when they’re young and once every three to four weeks as adults.
