The Easy DIY Solution That Combats Your Home's Exterior Mold
By ALEXANDRA RODRIGUEZ
Catching the early signs of mildew growth before it turns into mold is vital. Luckily, an easy DIY bleach solution can quickly get rid of mildew growth on your home’s exterior.
Mix ⅓ cup of Clorox bleach with a gallon of warm water; add laundry detergent and washing soda for an extra boost. Spot-test a small area first to ensure it won’t damage the walls.
Cover nearby plants, spray the affected area with water, then use a long-handle brush to scrub the mildewed surface. Wait for 10 minutes, rinse, and watch the mildew slide off.
The same method can be used with oxygen bleach for a nontoxic, plant-safe alternative that, contrary to regular bleach, attacks the mildew spores themselves and prevents regrowth.
