The Downsides Of TikTok's Paper Towel Hack For Extra Countertop Space

According to TikTok users @iamquyontae and @kreativeenergy, the arm on a paper towel holder is designed to slide into your cupboards and save countertop space in
the kitchen.
However, unless you have open cabinets, there are a couple of downsides to this TikTok hack. Though the trick does work, it seems to prevent cabinets from closing all the way.
Another concern is that the hack could damage your cabinets, especially if you're heavy-handed and slam them shut. You may potentially scratch the wood or leave permanent gouges.
You could cushion the bottom of your paper towel holder with foam tape, but it will add another layer to your holder, which means your cabinet doors will stick out even further.
