The Cross- Stitch DIY That Will Transform Your IKEA Hol Storage Table

If you want to upgrade the simplistic design of your IKEA Hol storage table, this DIY project from TikTok user @dalia.ea can give it a creative look using a cross-stitching trick.
For this project, you’ll need wool roving, dark walnut wood stain, Minwax polycrylic crystal clear top coat, a paintbrush, and a Hol table (only available in the U.S. secondhand).
Begin by disassembling the Hol and adding a coat of wood stain and polycrylic to the entire thing. Allow it to dry for at least a day before putting it back together.
Feed the wool roving through each hole using a cross-stitching method to create your desired look. Search online for inspiration or alternate colors between rows to keep it simple.
To use this as a coffee table without worrying about the thick wool threaded through the openings, install a wooden or glass top. Keep it clean as any spills can be hard to remove.
