The Best Way To Remove Paint Marks From Your Metal Features

Paint stains on a metal door knob
It's not uncommon to paint a room and find specks of paint on door hinges or furniture handles. Luckily, you can easily remove those paint marks using baking soda.
Baking soda in a wooden bowl
First, pour a quart of water into a large pan and mix in ¼ cup of baking soda. Boil the solution and use tongs to place the paint-splattered metal objects in the pot.

For best results, keep the objects separated. Lower the heat to bring the pan to a simmer and leave it there for about 15 minutes before removing everything.
A scrubbing brush on the floor
Put the metal objects aside to dry and cool. Use a bristled brush or a toothbrush to get rid of the remaining paint stains, which should come away easily.

For larger objects, heat the baking soda solution and use a cloth to apply it to the stained metal features. Always remember to wear gloves and use tongs to protect yourself.
