The Best Countertops For Extra Durability, According To Our Expert
By JESSICA DANIELS
In an exclusive interview with House Digest, CEO of
Omni Home Ideas Brad
Smith said granite, quartz, and Dekton are the three most durable materials to
use for countertops.
Design expert Brad Smith said quartz is his choice when it comes to durability. The non-porous surface means it doesn't require sealing and is resistant to most household stains.
Dekton is an engineered stone, specifically a porcelain, glass, and quartz blend, compressed together. It requires no sealing and
is resistant to most household cleaners.
Granite is resistant to heat, scratches, and stains, but it does require periodic
sealing every year since it
is a porous material.
