In an exclusive interview with House Digest, realtor Lindsey Schmidt recommended home sellers use durable, moisture-resistant luxury vinyl tile (LVT) for bathroom
floor remodels.
LVT mimics the appearance of high-end materials like marble and stone without their cost or high-maintenance, making it a great option for increasing the resale value of your home.
It costs about $1,400 to install in a 200-square-foot area. Since most bathrooms measure between 40 and 60 square feet, you can save big and use the extra money on other updates.
Schmidt also suggested porcelain tile as a second option — it’s affordable, water-resistant, and low-maintenance. However, it’s harder than LVT, which can be off-putting to buyers.
