Stop Storing These Common Items In Plastic Containers. Here's Why
By V BAWA
Paper Documents
Plastic traps heat and moisture, which can then cause your important documents to become moldy or disintegrate. If left in the sun, the paper’s ink will also fade.
Photos/Negatives
If the plastic container gets humid, photographs can stick together, develop mold, or warp. On the other hand, they’ll shrink or become brittle if it gets too dry.
Fragile Artwork
Depending on the materials used, artwork can be very sensitive. Putting plastic sleeves on paper drawings or paintings leaves them vulnerable to condensation.
Cleaning Products
The quality of the cleaner can be affected if the plastic material gets too hot. If the bottle leaks, the product can react with the plastic to create toxic fumes.
Certain Medications
Medications must be stored under the proper conditions to remain effective. Use climate-controlled containers and avoid placing pills in ziplock bags.
