Should You Purchase A Model Home?
By JULIANA LUMAJ
With interest rates, building costs, population changes, and state subsidies, buying a home right now is not only difficult but also very expensive. However, if you’re looking to save money and avoid financial strain, a model home may be something you’d want to consider, as long as you follow the right steps.
Similar to buying a typical home, you’ll want to work with a real estate agent to ensure that your needs are communicated efficiently. Not only can model homes be purchased at friendlier prices, as builders are more open to negotiation, but often they can be bought completely furnished due to all the furniture and decor items used for display purposes.
Make sure to get a home inspection, verify the builder’s trustworthiness, and ask your builder about loaning options. Also, it may be a good idea to request an extended warranty for the home so that you can properly inspect it for a year yourself to ensure there won't be any major issues in the future.
