Property Brothers' Drew Scott Shares What Deck Color To Avoid

While modern deck materials can be found in a range of colors, Drew Scott, co-host of HGTV's "Property Brothers," advises against using black as the primary color for
your deck.
According to Scott, "If you do black, for example, you're gonna be seeing the dirt a lot easier," which means you'll need to clean it more often to keep it looking fresh.
Black decks can also become extremely hot when exposed to direct sunlight, which can be unsafe for people and pets, and scratches are more noticeable on black composite decking.
Instead of black, Scott recommends opting for a dark color like English walnut, which offers a sophisticated, natural tone without the drawbacks associated
with black.
