Our Expert Warns To
Avoid These Countertop Materials In The Bathroom
By BROOKE YOUNGER
In an interview, the CEO, interior designer, and creative director of Omni Home Ideas, Brad Smith, offered some advice about selecting a new countertop material for your bathroom.
Smith cautioned, “While design preferences are subjective, from a practical standpoint, I advise against using porous materials like marble in bathrooms.”
He explained that marble, while visually stunning, can be easily stained from moisture in the bathroom. Marble also requires more maintenance and regular sealing to prevent damage.
However, the interior designer added, “For those who admire the elegance of marble, quartz is an excellent alternative. [...] It combines resilience with beauty.”
