Our Expert Explains The Best Flooring Options For Your Outdoor Shed
By SASKIA AINSWORTH
Choosing flooring for an outdoor shed can be tricky, but thankfully, Skylar Bartlett, owner of Kreer Construction, shares exact options and how to get the best bang for your buck.
"The most important factors to consider are: [...] temperature control [...], potential moisture exposure, how much wear and tear is expected, and your budget," Bartlett explains.
For individuals with budget constraints, Bartlett recommends glue down carpet; however, she warns that "it's not the most resistant to dirt," so it may need to be replaced often.
Those with a more generous budget might consider glue down click-and-lock luxury vinyl planks (LVPs). They are durable and easy to maintain but come with a higher price tag.
Interlocking tiles are another premium option that are able to withstand heavy weight, spills, and stains, making them a durable and aesthetically pleasing investment for a shed.
Finally, if your shed has a concrete foundation, you don’t need extra flooring. In this case, Bartlett suggests applying a concrete coating to seal and improve the existing floor.
