Organize Your Cabinets Like Marie Kondo For A Clutter-Free Kitchen
By KIM W.S.
Use Marie Kondo's famous KonMari method to organize your kitchen cabinets by reflecting carefully on your items, discarding them if appropriate, and storing them efficiently.
The KonMari method entails committing yourself to resetting your home by keeping only what sparks joy and letting go of the rest. This creates a space that makes you feel good.
First, consider your intentions for tidying your kitchen cabinets and commit to completing the task. For example, your aim could be to make cooking in your kitchen more enjoyable.
Next, assess each cabinet item and decide what to discard. Think about using the item, how it fits into your life’s vision, what you can do with it, and how it feels to handle it.
If these thoughts spark joy, keep that item. If not, or if the item is expired or broken, then thank it for serving its purpose and donate, recycle, repurpose, or discard it.
Finally, organize the items you’re keeping by category — for example, store dried goods in their own place separately from cans. Store all items upright so you can easily see them.
