Jeremiah Brent Is Over Millennial Beige Paint Color. Try This Instead
By ERIKA DALE
The millennial beige trend consists of a palette of beiges and light woods. Despite its popularity, interior designer Jeremiah Brent gives it a pass in favor of dynamic neutrals.
One way he makes neutrals pop more is by adding contrast. Incorporating black furniture fixtures or rich wood tones elevates the neutral palette and creates depth and refinement.
Brent also uses complementary earth tones to offset the neutral colors. Pairing rust, terracotta, soft blue, or sage paint with lots of greenery helps bring vibrance to the space.
Once you settle on your color combinations, Brent recommends using a mix of materials and finishes to create a dynamic space — in other words: no more beige-on-beige-on-beige.
For example, pair rough concrete with smooth brass or luxurious velvet with natural wovens to create a visual contrast that adds to the sophistication and richness of a space.
