Illuminate Your Indoor Plants For An Elevated Look
By CHRISTY RAE AMMONS
Put your magnificent houseplants on display and create a statement piece wherever you place them in your home by installing simple, low-cost lighting to illuminate them.
You can use real or faux houseplants for this lighting hack. On Amazon, you can get dimmable LED spotlights with a remote or battery operated color changing puck lights.
Put your potted plant in a large plant stand or fancy pot with its foliage exposed (lift it up with floral foam if it’s too low). Surround it with scrap paper to keep it centered.
Cover the filling with faux moss and set your light on top at an angle so it shines upward onto the plant. You’ll need to remove the moss and filling to water a living plant.
Alternatively, wrap your lights in clear plastic or use waterproof puck lights face-up in your plant’s existing pot. You can also put the light outside the pot facing your plant.
